Who can get a St Kitts and Nevis passport?
The Saint Christopher and Nevis Citizenship Act provides a program attracting foreigners foreign investors to acquire citizenship and a passport:
Birth: Individuals born in St Kitts and Nevis.
Descent: Individuals born to a St Kittian and Nevisian parent.
Registration: Individuals married to a St Kitts and Nevis national or with a St Kitts and Nevis adopted parent.
Naturalization: St Kitts and Nevis residents who have legally resided in the country for at least 14 years.

The Saint Christopher and Nevis Citizenship by Substantial Investment Regulations Act allows foreign investors and qualifying dependents to get a St Kitts and Nevis passport by investing in the economy. The minimum investment needed is $250,000 for a single applicant or family of up to four.
There are four investment options:
- Donation to the Sustainable Island State Contribution (SISC): A non-refundable contribution of $250,000 to the SISC.
- Approved real estate shares investment: A St Kitts and Nevis real estate investment valued at least $325,000 in shares of various real estate developer projects.
- Private home purchase: A single-family private home purchase valued at least $600,000.
- Donation to the Public Benefit Option (PBO): A non-refundable contribution of $250,000 to a Public Benefit Project.
A Saint Kitts and Nevis citizenship application also includes a criminal background check during the citizenship process. Second passport applicants must pay additional government fees to the St Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU) for due diligence checks. Photograph requirements: The passport photos must be 45mm by 35mm in size. One of the photos must be endorsed on the reverse side by the recommender.
Recommendation: A section of the Passport Application Form must be completed by a recommender – a person verifying the applicant’s declaration. The recommender cannot be a member of the applicant’s immediate family, but should instead be any of the following:
- Member of the National Assembly
- Member of the Nevis Island Assembly
- Justice of the Peace
- Notary public
- Minister of Religion
- Medical or legal practitioner
- Senior civil servant
- Senior bank official
- Gazetted police officer
- Any person of similar standing personally acquainted with the applicant
