Passport types

Grenada passports are blue Caribbean ePassports embedded with biometric data. Four types of travel documents are issued to citizens:

Who qualifies for a Grenadian passport?

Grenada nationality law established in the Grenadian Constitution determines the following individuals as citizens who have the right to a Grenada passport: 

Birth: Individuals born in Grenada

Descent: Individuals born to a Grenadian parent or grandparent.

Registration: Individuals married to a Grenada national or with a Grenadian adopted parent.

Naturalization: Grenada residents who have legally resided in the country for at least seven years.

Investment: Individuals who invest in the country through the Grenada citizenship by investment program.

Under Act No. 15/2013 of the Grenada Citizenship by Investment Act, foreign investors and qualifying dependents can get a Grenada passport by investing in the economy. The minimum investment is $235,000 for a single applicant or a family of up to four.

There are two investment options:

  1. Donation to the National Transformation Fund (NDF): A non-refundable contribution of $235,000 to the NDF.
  2. Approved real estate investment: A real estate investment valued at least:

How to Apply for a Grenada Passport

The Grenada passport process requires applying through the Immigration and Passport Department in Grenada or an embassy or high commission abroad. Precise steps and fees may vary depending on the path to citizenship, the individual, and the location applied.

  1. Complete the official Grenada passport application form. Enter biodata and get a qualified Grenadian to endorse the application.
  2. Gather the required documents. This may include an expired passport, proof of citizenship, and a consent letter for minor children.
  3. Include two identical passport photos. The photos must be 45mm x 35mm and no more than six months old. The endorser must sign the back of one photo.
  4. Pay passport application fees. The Grenada passport cost will vary depending on whether you’re applying for a new passport or replacing a lost or damaged one.
  5. Submit the completed passport application to the Passport Department or an embassy or high commission abroad. The application can be submitted in person or via registered mail. Processing times will vary depending on how and where the application is submitted.

Grenada Caribbean passport applications typically take six weeks to process. New passports are delivered to the consular offices on Fridays.

Fast-track processing

Grenada fast-tracked passports are processed in two to four weeks. For an additional $50 fee, applicants can include a letter detailing the reason for expediting to request same-day processing.

  • Citizens 18 and over: £277 ($340)
